Reviews from TripAdvisor

I loved every part of my retreat at Sunset Bay! I went to their first ever Veganuary retreat and it was so relaxing, refreshing and nourishing. I feel like I spent a week there although it was only three days! Maggie, Graham and Smudge are so lovely and friendly, they make you feel right at home! The food cooked by Kelly Mason was unbelievable - flavourful, comforting, vibrant, sophisticated. She also taught us so much about vegan nutrition. The activities were all so great and different: yoga sessions, mindfulness, scenic walks along the beach and in the hills, sound bath, tales and songs… I would highly recommend and will happily come back, could not have wished for a better experience for my first trip to Wales 🙂
Best vegan retreat in Wales!
January 2023
I had a fantastic weekend at Sunsetbay Veganuary retreat. It was my first time exploring Wales and it was amazing to see how everything is so close to Tywyn, where the retreat is based. Maggie and Graham gave us a big welcome and took us exploring local hills, waterfalls and seaside towns with the team, alongside other activities such as yoga, gong bath and some local Welsh music. The food was insanely good, every dish was nutritious and healthy and I came back home feeling very recharged and grounded. I strongly recommend this retreat, and I will defo join another one this year!
Amazing retreat to ground and relax!
January 2023
At a crossroads in my life I decided I needed some ‘me’ time and to get away for a while. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to come. I wanted Yoga and relaxation but also some fun activities, some very familiar and some new. Maggie and her team are absolutely fabulous and the 5 days were perfectly put together and delivered to the highest standard. Accommodation and the food were also exceptional. They made me feel so welcome and the other guests and all the staff were an absolute joy to meet and spend time with. I will definitely book again and would not hesitate to recommend Sunset Bay Well-being Retreats ♥️.
Say ‘yes’ to this Retreat! It’s the best 🤩

The most amazing 5 days ever!! Fantastic Chapel, fantastic hosts, Maggie and Graham and the rest of their team! The most delicious and wholesome vegan food I’ve ever tasted. Hot tub and fire pit in the garden and lots of activities including yoga, stretching, walking, meditation, wild swimming, SUP, gong bath, bike ride and more!! I went on my own and I’m so glad I did! It’s something everyone should experience and I’m definitely going back next year!! If I could give a 6 star review I would! Highly recommended
Amazing Retreat!

5 Stars all round! Maggie is quite possibly the most energetic, kind, friendly and passionate person you will ever meet. She exudes positive energy, and it’s catching! If your looking for a social experience, full of friendly new faces, activities to keep you busy as much or as little as you wish, with hiking, paddle boarding, Pilates with Maggie, walking / running, and lots of beautifully and expertly delivered yoga (by Frankie, a yogi to be in awe of) then this is the retreat for you. Maggie delivers the timetable in a relaxed and homely way, no pressure and no judgement if you want to sit something out. There is access to some equally positive firebrand therapists, from life coaching, reflexology, all kinds of massage, reiki etc. Experts in their field and friendly to boot. You get a treatment with your stay, and anything else you want is extra, but there is access to all the information and prices before you go, so there are no hidden costs or surprises. Wine is by the glass in the evening, £4/5 each. Lovely fresh smoothies and shots every day, access to fruit, snacks, hot drinks all day. You will not go hungry. The location in Wales is stunning, the journey across the mountains towards the sea was an experience in itself, with stunning countryside and views. The food is simple, vegetarian and excellent quality, plenty of it and there is cake! No fad diets here. The accommodation is nice, with a selection of different rooms at different prices, to suit all budgets. I met a range of people from lots of different backgrounds, areas of the country, different lives. It was also a healing experience to connect with a new group of people who you don’t know, after the pandemic, we have all forgotten that we are just one big community of humans at the end of the day, all with similar issues, problems and things we need to fix in our lives. It was good to remember that we are all in a very similar boat, no matter who we are. This was a positive experience, it’s co-operative, and social. If your looking for a quiet, solo time to meditate, this is probably not the thing for you, although they do deliver different kinds of retreats, more spiritual and quietly inclined, so check them out. Either way, you’ll come away with a fresh take on life, and some new friends x
Fun, social. Connect with new people and enjoy a bit of you time, surrounded by friendly faces and positive energy!

Amazing retreat with amazing people! From the moment i arrived at the chapel i felt welcome and relaxed. The atmosphere is calming and everyone involved from Maggie & Graham to "Phil the Hill", Elaine, Jill, Frankie, Scott and Gordon, everyone makes you feel welcome and looked after like you have been part of their community your whole life! I cannot recommend Sunsetbay retreats enough, especially if it is your first time at a retreat. It has everything from a vigourous hike and paddleboarding to restorative yoga and sound baths. I will be back!
Amazing theraputic retreat with a taster of everything!
June 2022
I loved the retreat from start to finish, but in particular, the yoga was great, the paddle boarding was exciting, the voice workshop was interesting, and I also loved the waterfalls and the lake that we went to. Oh and the food, flawless. I left feeling refreshed, regenerated and ready to take on the world! Thank you Maggie. You were perfect.
Just what I needed.
